Summary:PURPOSE:To perform accurate control at all times, by carrying out control base on only rotary frequency information fed from the main motor of the electric rolling stock provided with a variable voltage and variable frequency inverter. CONSTITUTION:DC power tank in through a pantograph 1, a disconnecting switch 2, a filter reactor 3 and a filter capacitor 4 is converted into AC three- phase power through a variable voltage and variable frequency inverter 5 and fed to eight induction motors 6-13. Induction motors 10-13 are mounted on one electric rolling stock M2 and the remaining induction motors are mounted on another electric rolling stock M1. Frequency information of only the induction motors 6-9 is detected through rotary frequency detectors 14-17 and fed to a controller 18, which controls the variable voltage and variable frequency inverter 5 based on the provided information. By such arrangement, an operational performance of the electric rolling stock is improved.
