Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a long mold product having a uniform thickness by reducing the flow-out amount of a molten resin from the rear end of a press mold, by a method wherein a cutting part is partially provided to the rear end of a press mold and pressing is performed while a long synthetic resin sheet is partially cut in the lateral direction thereof by said cutting part. CONSTITUTION:The whole of an upper mold 10 is raised and a heated long sheet (x) is sent into the space between an upper mold main body 8 and a lower mold 11 from the rear part of a press mold 4 and, subsequently, the whole of the upper mold 10 is allowed to fall and a press mold 9 is closed to press the sheet (x) by the supper mold main body 8 and said sheet (x) is molded into a plate shape while cut in the lateral direction excepting the connection parts 28, 28 of both side ends thereof by the cutting part 14 provided to the rear end of the upper mold main body 8. At this time, the softened molten resin in the mold is ready to flow out of the mold but, since the front and both sides of the mold are closed by the press mold 9 and side end cutting parts 29, 29 and the rear part thereof is closed by the rear end cutting part 14, the resin slightly flows outer from the connection parts 28, 28 and projections are only generated at the connections parts in a negligible degree.
