Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of a printed matter, reduce a set up time, and contrive the improvement in productivity and the reduction in labor, by a method wherein, a resin relief plate is overlapped and bonded on a press plate formed by baking a pattern coating image on a metal sheet patterns of the both plates are matched with each other to form a coating plate, and this coating plate is set on the periphery of a coater cylinder to conduct the coating. CONSTITUTION:On a resin relief plate 12, a projecting pattern coating image 12a corresponding to a printing image is formed, and on the back side thereof a duplicated form 13 is bonded. On the other hand, a pattern coating image 14a corresponding to the printing image is formed on a press late 14. The resin relief plate 12 applied with the duplicated film 13 is depressed against the press plate 14 on a mount while the image 12a is overlapped on the image 14a of the press plate 14, whereby the duplicated film 13 is bonded to the press plate 14 to complete a coating plate 11. When a printing operation is started with the coating plate 11 set on the periphery of a coater cylinder 5, printed paper 8 passes through between the coater cylinder 5 and a pressure cylinder 7. On the other hand, varnish in a varnishing vessel 2 is lifted up by a fountain roller 3 and applied to the projecting pattern coating image 12a by a from roller 6; thus, the varnish is transferred and coating to a part to be patterned of the paper 8.
