Summary:PURPOSE:To form the UV curing resin-covered optical fiber having excellent light resistance by providing an internal coating made of a UV curing silicone acrylate resin having a specific Young's modulus on an optical fiber made of quartz and providing an external coating having the Young's modulus larger than the Young's modulus of the internal coating thereon. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 1 made of the quartz, the internal coating 2 which is applied on the optical fiber 1 and is made of the UV curing silicone acrylate resin having >=0.2kgf/mm Young's modulus E and the external covering 3 which is applied on the internal coating 2 and has >=10kgf/mm Young's modulus E. The Young's modulus E of the internal coating is preferably 0.2kgf/ mm<2=E<=1kgf/mm . The Young's modulus E of the external coating is preferably 10kgf/mm<2=E<=100kgf/mm . The optical fiber 5 which has the internal coating made of the UV curing resin having the excellent light resistance and low-temp. characteristic is thereby obtd.
