Summary: | PURPOSE:To achieve a handy and accurate measurement of a surface area, by altering the thickness of a filter layer by stages according to a control value given to measure a filtration resistance of the filler layer in terms of varied resistances. CONSTITUTION:A surface area measuring sample such as pulp fiber is placed into a cylinder container and put on an upper plate to prepare a filter layer. Then, the weight, a measurement start filtration layer concentration and measurement end concentration of a sample is inputted from a keyboard of a personal computer to indicate the start of measurement. Then, the personal computer sends a control signal to a synchronous motor with a linear head gear to compress the filter layer to a thickness enough to attain the measurement start concentration thereof as specified. Then, a flow rate, filtration pressure and water temperature are measured with a sensor as data necessary for the measurement of a filtration resistance. Then, the filter layer is compressed to a thickness thereof for the measurement of the filtration resistance according to the control value given and likewise, the measurement of the filtration resistance of the filter layer is repeated and finished when the layer reaches the measurement end concentration. |
