Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of ferromagnetic powder by incorporating a specific amine compd. into a magnetic layer formed by dispersing Cr2O3 powder into a binder. CONSTITUTION:The amine compd. expressed by the formula is incorporated into the magnetic layer which s provided on a nonmagnetic base and is formed by dispersing the Cr2O3 powder into the binder. In the formula, R1-R3 are H, alkyl group of 4-22C, alkenyl group of 4-22C, cycloalkyl group of 5-10C, cycloalkenyl group of 5-10C, alkyl acryl group of 1-22 in alkyl part, aralkyl group of 1-4C in hydrocarbon chain part. Hexyl amine, octyl amine and others are used as the above-mentioned amine compd. The amt. of the amine compd. to be used is 0.5-10pts.wt., more preferably 2-3pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. Cr2O3 powder. The surface treatment of the Cr2O3 powder with the amine in place of adding the amine compd. to a magnetic coating compd. is more preferable.
