Summary:PURPOSE:To update a file without breaking and interrupting a call during the processing by providing a data converting processing part to apply data to a new operating system file and a file replacing processing part to replace the file to a new file. CONSTITUTION:A new operating system file is stored into a main memory at a standby side. Next, on a main memory 31 at an active side, the file of an operating system during the operation is loaded down to a logging area on the device 32 and equipped for the recovery at the time of generating abnormality after updating. Continuously, a call processing program, an operation control program and the data for the task continuation of an operating system during the operation are converted to the data for the action by the new operating system. The data concerning a new function added to the new operating system is processed through the mutual interface data part of the operating system and the application program. The new operating system file is activated.
