Summary:PURPOSE:To attain the stable facsimile communication of small picture quality degradation by executing standard transmission control or the transmission control of a improved type to have error control function in correspondence to the condition of line quality. CONSTITUTION:Between standard facsimile equipments FAX1 and FAX2, FAX signal converting devices FSCNV1 and FSCNV2 are arranged with being faced each other in both sides of a communication network NW1. These FAX signal converting devices FSCNV1 and FSCNV2 are composed of a means to execute a standard transmission control procedure for an interface with the standard facsimile equipments FAX1 and FAX2, a means to execute a connection control procedure with the communication network NW1 and an adaptive control type error control means which judges the condition of a line to be used and executes error control in correspondence to the condition.
