Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent edge cracks in thin sheet rolling by a tandem mill by forming a tapered part whose height increases toward a body end at an end part of the roll body of a work roll and setting a starting point of the tapered part to an inside point from a sheet edge part. CONSTITUTION:A thin sheet is rolled by a tandem mill having rolling stands provided with work rolls 1 capable of moving in the roll axis direction. In that time, for >=1 stands of the rolling stands, a tapered part whose height increases toward a roll body end of the rolls 1 is formed. Further, rolling is performed by setting a starting point of the tapered part to a point (a) inside from a sheet edge part of a rolled stock 2 by a size of delta, so that edge cracks are prevented form generation. |
