Summary:PURPOSE:To efficiently discharge floated scum by allowing the floated scum to form a layer having uniform thickness, and allowing the surface water current formed by the water current from an inflow vessel to entrain the scum toward the opposite communicating part of a flotation tank. CONSTITUTION:The raw water 1 is mixed with the water 2 wherein air is dissolved under pressure, supplied to the lower part of the inflow vessel 4 of the cubic flotation tank 3 to adhere fine bubbles to the suspended matter in the raw water, and sent into the tank 3 from the communicating part of the vessel 4 to separate the suspended matter on the water surface of the tank 3 as floated scum 8. The scum 8 is discharged by a discharge means 9 provided on the water surface of the tank 3, and treated water is recovered by the water supply means 21 communicating with the lower part in the tank 3. The communicating part of the vessel 4 has a width almost equal to the inner width of the tank 3, and used as a weir 6 with the upper end positioned under the water surface. The discharge means 9 is arranged at the upper part of the side wall of an outflow vessel in the tank 3 in parallel with the side wall, and used as a rotary scraper 9 having a scraping blade 15 having a width almost equal to the inner width of the tank 3.
