Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of cloud-up in a barrel by providing the lens barrel of substantially airtightness structure with a cooling member whose peripheral temperature is kept <=0 deg.C so as to expose it in the hollow of the barrel. CONSTITUTION:A small amount of moisture (steam) contained in the air in the lens barrel 1 and causing cloud-up of an inner lens in the barrel congeals on the outer periphery of the cooling member 2 whose peripheral temperature is kept <=0 deg.C, and is collected. The member 2 is provided in the wall of the lens barrel 1 by exposing it to the hollow. Consequently, the air in the lens barrel 1 is dried up in condition where humidity is substantially 0 deg.C. Even if external temperature changes suddenly, cloud-up of the lens in the barrel never develops.
