Summary:PURPOSE:To shorten the development time and reduce the mixing ratio of other colors in phosphor dots by applying water droplets with the grain size smaller than that of phosphor picture elements on a phosphor-coated film after exposure. CONSTITUTION:Phosphor slurry containing phosphor grains 2 is coated on the inner face of a panel 1, its required section is exposed to form the first material layer 4 with the dot diameter D. The development pressure of 2-4kg/cm is applied to this first material layer 4 with a nozzle of spray grains with the diameter of about 50mum which is smaller than the dot diameter D, the insoluble portion by exposure and the soluble portion by nonexposure are film-wetted to form a fluid bed 5 of water. The soluble portion is quickly dissolved without impairing the film density of an exposure section due to the existence of this fluid bed 5 and the development time is shortened. For the second color and subsequently, drains of other colors stuck to the surface of its own color grain layer are peeled off in a short time due to the fluid bed 5 and no color mixture occurs.
