Summary:PURPOSE:To improve quality and yield of a product by calculating the position adjustment quantity of squeeze rolls to dissolve the difference in level between the edges from the temperature difference between both side edge parts before welding and then, performing welding. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 5 is arranged with respect to both side edge parts 1l and 1r and the vicinity thereof in the direction to cross orthogonally to the axial length direction of a resistance welded tube 2. Further, an edge part peak temperature detection part 6 and a squeeze roll adjustment quantity arithmetic part 7 are connected to the sensor 5 in order. The temperature detection part 6 reads the output of the sensor 5 and detects peak temperatures Ta and Tb of both side edge parts 1l and 1r and inputs these to the arithmetic part 7. The arithmetic part 7 then estimates the quantity DELTAd of difference in level of both side edges and calculates the position adjustment quantity delta of the squeeze rolls 3l and 3r. A position control part 8 adjusts the position of one side of the rolls 3l and 3r by the adjustment quantity delta. By this method, the difference in level of the product is dissolved and the quality and yield of the product are improved.
