Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce danger such as ignition, explosion and the like of the cell in the caption so as to improve safety thereof by combining a negative plate in which a light metal such as Li, Na and the like is used as active material with a positive plate via a separator and applying specific nonwatertight electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Into a cylindrical cell can 1 made of stainless steel a positive plate 2 obtained by forming mixed powder composed of MnO2 as a main agent into a sheet-form and a sheet-formed negative plate 3 in which a light metal such as Li, Na and the like is used as active material are laminated via a separator 4 made of polystylene textile sheet, a power generation element 5 made by winding it in spiral is enclosed and prescribed amount of specific nonaqueous electrolyte 6 is injected. A lead plate 7 taken out from the upper portion of the positive plate 2 is connected to a sealing plate 9 provided inside a flat terminal board 8 mounted on the opening of the cell-can 1 and located inside an insulating gasket 10. As to the nonwatertight electrolyte 6, the electrolyte composed by adding a small quantity of LiClO4 into mixed liquid of propylene carbon dioxide and diethoxyethane with LiCF3SO3 as a main component.
