Summary:PURPOSE:To increase the number of lateral display columns and to make a display matching with recording contents on one screen in any printing mode by varying the addressing and scanning at the time of a read of a video memory at a lateral position where a CRT is rotatable. CONSTITUTION:The display screen is made rotatably by 90 deg., standard size is displayed at a longitudinal position, and size larger than the standard size is displayed at a lateral position. Further, the addressing at the time of the read of the video memory 6 and the scanning of a character generator 7 for display are varied and in any printing mode, recording of a number of rows is performed on one screen. Consequently, a display matching with the contents of the printing mode is made on the screen, so editing, etc., is facilitated.
