PURPOSE:To obtain a diaper having high efficiency and enabling the absorption corresponding to the individual difference or posture of the wearer, by using an absorbent having a particular distribution of the absorbable amount in longitudinal direction and placing the absorbent between a surface sheet and a back sheet. CONSTITUTION:An absorbent having the following construction is placed between a surface sheet having high liquid permeability and a liquid-impermeable back sheet. (1) The absorbent is composed of plural layers (the number of layers is increased at a part where the absorption capacity is to be increased), (2) the ratio of the absorption capacity of the part (a) having the maximum absorption capacity in longitudinal direction to the absorption capacity of the part having small absorption capacity per unit length and unit area in longitudinal direction (b/a) is 0.25-0.85 each and the area of the part having high absorption capacity is made to be 20-85% based on the whole area and (3) at least a part or total of the plural layers is formed of a sheet containing water- absorption polymer. The distribution of the water-absorption polymer is >=50% based on the whole absorbent.
