PURPOSE:To obtain a wood material having excellent flame resistance by impregnating various wood materials with aqueous flame resistant agent solution containing as effective ingredients reactive products of ammonium polyphosphate, formaldehyde and dicyandiamide, and drying. CONSTITUTION:The type of woody material used can be an acicular tree, a broadleaf tree, and the shape and as the structure working wood, particle board, etc., made of bonded wood in addition to sawn wood, such as plate wood or the like can be used. The reactive products of ammonium polyphosphate, formaldehyde and dicyandiamide of the effective ingredients of aqueous flame resistant agent solution are obtained by reacting 2-4mol. of ammonia, 0.2-3mol. of formaldehyde and 0.2-3mol. of dicyandiamide with 1mol. of polyphosphoric acid, and 100pts.wt. of the woody material is impregnated with 5-150pts.wt. of the solution by solid content. As impregnating method reduced pressure pouring method, pressure pouring method, reduced pressure and pressure pouring method can be used. As drying of the woody material after impregnating, heating by steam, hot blast, high frequency or the like with a drying facility after natural drying, or vacuum heating can be used.
