Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a surface-treating agent enhancing adherence of coatings etc., capable of giving coating films of improved clearness and low-temperature impact resistance, by formulating a low-viscosity unsaturated carboxylic acid- modified polyolefin, a modified styrene/diolefin block copolymer and organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective surface-treating agent can be obtained by formulating (I) >=5wt.% of a resin component comprising (A) 10-90wt.% of a modified polyolefin with an intrinsic viscosity [eta] of 0.1-1.0dl/g (determined in decalin at 135 deg.C) produced by graft copolymerization, to a low-molecular weight polyolefin, of 0.05-15wt.% of a unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative (e.g. maleic anhydride) and (B) 10-90wt.% of a modified block copolymer produced by graft copolymerization, to a styrene/diolefin/styrene block copolymer or its hydrogenated product, of 0.05-15wt.% of a unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative and (II) <=95wt.% of an organic solvent (e.g., toluene).
