Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the optical coupling efficiency to suppress the optical loss by sticking a light-transmissive hardening resin to an optical fiber end face as a liquid and hardening this resin. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 2 is inserted through a small hole 6a of an optical plug 6, and a protective coating 4 is stored in a large hole 6b of the optical plug 6, and they are joined in this state by an adhesive or caulking. A proper amount of a light-transmissive hardening resin 10 is changed out onto the upper end face of the optical fiber 2 and that of the optical plug 6 to completely cover the end part of the optical fiber 2 and grooves 6c of the optical plug 6 with the resin. Rays for hardening are projected from a hardening ray source 12 to harden the resin, thereby forming a light-transmissive hardened resin 10a with the shape and the precision of the surface kept they are. Thus, the optical coupling efficiency is improved, and a satisfactory optical surface is formed to suppress the optical loss. |
