NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R is (protected) 0H; R is H or amino protecting group ; R is H or organic group; R is (substituted) heterocyclic group; R is (protected) carboxy; X is -O- or -NH-] and salt thereof. EXAMPLE:7beta-[2-[2-{(5-Hydroxy-4-oxo-1,4-dihydropyridin-2-yl) methylamino}thiazol-4-y1]-2-methoxyiminoacetamide]-3-(1,2,4-thiaziazol -5-y1) thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid [syn isomer]. USE:A germicide. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II, reactive derivative thereof or salt thereof is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III, reactive derivative thereof or salt thereof to provide the compound expressed by formula I. Furthermore the compound expressed by formula III which is a raw material is a novel substance capable of being produced from compounds expressed by formula IV and formula V.
