Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency of stud welding by detecting a gun coil voltage curve of a welding gun or a stud stroke curve and controlling execution of welding based on the positional relation with a peak point of a welding current curve. CONSTITUTION:A stud bolt 14 is held movably by the welding gun 3 and a sensor for detecting a thrusting stroke curve into base metal 2 of the bolt 14 is arranged to the welding gun 3. In the welding process of the bolt 14 to the base metal 2, the gun coil voltage curve of the welding gun 3 and the welding current curve are measured and the stroke curve of the bolt 14 is detected by the sensor. Those respective curves are compared and a shape where a peak point X of the current curve is generated after a fall-in point Y of the thrusting stroke curve is judged and made to a decision standard of quality of welding. By this method, immediately after defective welding is detected, the bolt 14 can be replaced, hence working efficiency of welding is improved. |
