Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve a reliability for discriminating a distance between vehicles by averaging the measured values of the data of distance between vehicles, calculating a reference distance, correcting, updating the reference distance for every detection start, comparing with measured distance data thereafter and alarming. CONSTITUTION:An obstruction sensor 1 is disposed in the front part of the vehicle, the detected distance data is inputted to a CPU 2 to store in the prescribed area of a storing means 6 and store the average value of the distance data. The unevenness in the distance data resulting from the change of a meteorological condition is prevented and corrected to this average value. This corrected average distance data is defined to be the reference distance and compared with the measured data to operate an alarm 4. According to the operation of a button switch 5, a driver can arbitrarily start to measure the distance. For every start of detecting the distance between the vehicles, the data of a preceding operation is cleared and initialized, thereby, the start of a forward vehicle is properly discriminated according to the distance between the vehicles at the stop. |
