Summary: | PURPOSE:To keep the tension of a wire electrode constant all the time as well as to secure a constant machined surface by detecting the initial tension of the wire electrode during electric discharge machining, comparing this detected value with a command value, and controlling the initial tension so as to cause both values to accord with each other. CONSTITUTION:First of all, when a wire electrode 1 is in a state of being fully rolled on a wire bobbin 2, a position of a dancer roller dependent on a NC command value, namely, output voltage of a potentiometer 24 is found out in advance. Then, gain of an amplifier 30 is regulated an initial tension brake 9 is controlled so as to accord an NC command value B with output A via an analog-to-digital converter 31 of the potentiometer 24. Thus, even if such elements as varying tension of the wire electrode due to thin-and-down of the wire bobbin and bobbin replacement or the like acts thereon, the tension of the wire electrode is made possible to keep it constant all the time, so that a consistent machined surface can be secured. |
