Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy in shape data and the accuracy, in developing an normalized orthogonal relation by correcting shape data by the meandering amt. of a rolling steel plate and providing the correction circuit of the meandering amt. feeding the result thereof to the normalized orthogonal relation developing circuit. CONSTITUTION:The meandering amt. of a rolling steel plate 2 is measured by a width meter 8 and the shape data of the plate 2 by a shape meter 4. A correct plate end is recognized by the detected meandering amt. data and plate width setting data and the cover rate of the plate end part is found for the detection head of the shape meter 4. A control output is operated by a shape control output arithmetic circuit 7 with the development of a normalized orthogonal function by a normalized orthogonal function developing circuit 6 via the meandering amt. correcting circuit 9 correcting said shape data by said meandering data. The shape expression and shape control of high accuracy can be thus executed.
