Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode for fuel batteries which enables increase in productivity without causing a cracking in a coating film.SOLUTION: The method comprises steps of: preparing a polyelectrolyte solution having an ion-exchange group, and including a first solvent and a polyelectrolyte having a value of 500-960 as an EW value representing a resin dry weight per one mole of the ion-exchange group, and dispersed in a first solvent, a second solvent containing t-butyl alcohol as a main solvent, and catalyst carrier carbon; preparing a catalyst ink by dispersing the polyelectrolyte solution and the catalyst carrier carbon in the second solvent; coating a base material with the catalyst ink; and removing the first and second solvents after coating.
