Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume data processing apparatus which increases reproducibility for specifying a measurement region and performs the calculation of the amount of characteristics easily and objectively and a volume data processing program. SOLUTION: The volume data processing apparatus related to this invention is equipped with a profile calculating part for calculating line profiles of a measurement value included in a numerical value region representing bones on a specific plane in parallel with a body axis of a subject, a region setting part for setting a region of interest by using the maximum or minimum position of the line profile as a reference, and a part for calculating the amount of characteristics for calculating the amount of characteristics on the region of interest. Since the region of interest is set by using the position of the maximum value or the minimum value of the profile as the reference, the region of interest is set for the subject with excellent reproducibility.
