Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the failure of a base body and the peeling, etc., of thin films thermal strains by bringing a heat pipe into contact with the part of the base body where the thin films are not formed thereby equalizing the heat of the base body at the time of forming the thin films on the base body by a plasma thermal spraying method. CONSTITUTION:The respective thin films of an air electrode, solid electrolyte and fuel electrode are successively formed in superposition by the plasma thermal spraying method on a ceramics cylindrical supporting pipe 1 of, for example, a solid electrolyte type fuel battery. The heat pipe 2 is inserted heat transmittably and perpendicularly into the hollow part of the pipe 1 at this time. The bottom end of the heat pipe 2 is then heated by an auxiliary heater 3 to evaporate the working fluid sealed therein. The vapor thereof is moved and condensed to the upper part of the pipe 2 and is returned downward. The pipe 1 is heated and dehumidified in this way and is evenly heated. After the pipe 1 is preheated to a prescribed temp., the auxiliary heater 3 is turned off and a motor is driven to rotate the pipe 1 integrally with the pipe 2. The thin films are formed by a thermal spraying gun 4.
