Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a pigment dispersant giving coating films excellent in the luster and coloration force, when used for aqueous inks or aqueous coatings and good in fluidity and storage stability, to provide the pigment composition using the same, and to provide the aqueous pigment dispersion. CONSTITUTION:The pigment dispersant is characterized by polymerizing addition-polymerizable monomers containing an addition-polymerizable monomer having and acidic functional group in the presence of a diazotization product as a polymerization initiator, the diazotization product being produced by diazotizing an anthraquinone derivative or acridone derivative having an aromatic amino group. The pigment composition is characterized by comprising 100 pts.wt. of a pigment and 0.1-30 pts.wt. of the pigment dispersant. And the aqueous pigment dispersant is characterized by comprising the pigment composition and an aqueous resin.
