Summary: | PURPOSE:To produce the subject resin having a low viscosity, a good anchoring property and durable image stability and useful for toners employed in electronic photography, etc., by stepwisely reacting a mixture of plural polyester resins having specific mol.wts. and OH values, respectively, with a specific amount of a diisocyanate under heating. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of (A) a polyester resin having a number-average mol.wt. of 1000-10000, an OH value of <=5 and a Tg of >=40 deg.C with (B) a polyester resin having a number-average mol.wt. of 1000-5000 and an OH value of 10-60 in an A:B mixing ratio of 20:80 to 90:10 is allowed to react with a diisocyanate compound (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate) having 1.03-1.3 moles of NCO group per mole of the OH group in all of the polyesters A and B at 160-220 deg.C in a reaction degree of 80-98% and subsequently at 110-150 deg.C for 10-300min, followed by cooling the solution product to provide the objective urethane-modified polyester resin. |
