Summary: | PURPOSE:To shorten the operation time for learning and recollection by constituting the periphery of correlation computing elements which operate the parts of products in parallel as an optical system. CONSTITUTION:A first collation computing element 14 optically operates the Hadamard product between signals from a first input pattern converter 12 and a first stored matrix computing element 22, and a first partial sum computing element 16 electrically operates the partial sum of the output of the first correlation computing element 14 in parallel, and an intermaediate layer output pattern is obtained by a first output function computing element 18. A second correlation computing element 34 optically operates the Hadamard product between signals from a second input pattern converter 32 and a second stored matrix computing element 42, and a second partial sum computing element 36 electrically operates the partial sum of outputs of the second correlation computing element 34 in parallel, and an output pattern is obtained by a second output function computing element 38. Thus, the operation time is shortened. |
