Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a sentence processor by producing a KANJI (Chinese character)-KANA (Japanese syllabary) sentence in a common KANJI mode and converting collectively the words including the KANJI except the common use ones stored with the read information into KANJI from KANA. CONSTITUTION:An input means 1 is used together with a mode setting means 2 which sets a common KANJI mode, a KANA/KANJI conversion means 3 for words including the common KANJI, and a sentence storage means 4 which stores the KANJI-KANA sentences. Furthermore a retrieving means 5 is added to retrieve the character strings together with a conversion means 6 for KANJI except the common ones which converts the retrieved character strings into KANJI except the common ones and stores them in the means 4. As a result, the character strings included in the KANJI-KANA sentences produced in a common KANJI mode are collectively converted into the words including KANJI except the common ones. Thus the operability of a sentence processor is improved.
