Summary:PURPOSE:To easily discriminate the replacement period of a filter, by changing the pressure value in a container having sheath liquid to be received corresponding to the output of a pressure sensor to control the output of the pressure sensor to a set value and detecting clogging from the pressure value in the container. CONSTITUTION:The air tube 2 connected to a compressor 1 is connected to a sheath liquid container 5 and a sample liquid container 6 through electric type requlators 3, 4. The sheath tube in the container 5 is guided to a nozzle 11 through an impurity removing filter 8 and a pressure sensor 9 and the output of a control circuit 17 to which external set pressure and the output of the sensor 9 are connected is inputted to the regulator 3. It is judged whether the pressure signal value sent to the regulator 13 from the circuit 17 corresponding to the pressure value in the container 5 exceeds a predetermined value and, on the basis of the judge result, the clogging of the filter 9 is detected and, for example, an alarm/display apparatus 18 is operated.
