Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance antithrombogenicity and flexibility, by coating the respective surfaces of fibers constituting a knitted fabric or cloth with a hydrogel. CONSTITUTION:The respective fibers constituting a tubular object composed of a knitted fabric or cloth are independently coated with a hydrogel. This tubular object can be prepared by a method wherein the surfaces of the fibers are coated with a hydrogel forming substance firming the hydrogel upon the contact with water and the coated fibers are subsequently used to mold the tubular knitted fabric or cloth which is, in turn, immersed in water to swell the hydrogel forming substance on the surfaces of the fibers to form the hydrogel.
