Summary: | PURPOSE:To realize a method for producing a high quality and highly oriented graphite by baking at a high temperature a polymer film readily produced at a low cost, while solving defects such as conventional extremely complicated production processes, remarkably low yields, and extremely high costs. CONSTITUTION:A method for producing the graphite is characterized by laminating, pressing and heating a plurality of polymer films preliminarily been subjected to an oxidation treatment. In the method, decomposition gases are smoothly released out through the spaces between the films to prevent the breakage of the films caused by the generated gases even when pressed and baked, and further to prevent the generation of strains in the films caused by the pressures of the gases, thereby permitting to finally improve the orientation characteristics of the graphitized blocks. |
