Summary: | To provide apparatus and methods for bias switching of a power amplifier that manages RF signal transmission power so as to provide an appropriate transmission power level.SOLUTION: A power amplifier system 150 includes; a power amplifier 140 that provides amplification to a radio frequency (RF) signal; a power management circuit 111 that controls a voltage level of a first supply voltage VCC1 to a drain of an input stage FET 141 of the power amplifier 140, and a second supply voltage VCC2 to a drain of an output stage FET 142 thereof; and a bias control circuit 112 that biases the power amplifier 140. The power management circuit is operable in multiple supply control modes, such as an average power tracking (APT) mode and an envelope tracking (ET) mode.
