Summary: | To effectively remove water vapor generated from a nitrate bath in a chute space in a continuous heat treatment apparatus.SOLUTION: A continuous heat treatment apparatus 1 includes a heating furnace 3, a dropping chute device 4 for dropping a metal member heat-treated in the heating furnace 3, and a nitrate bath 6 into which the metal member is fed by the dropping chute device 4. The dropping chute device 4 has a peripheral wall 41 forming a chute space extending in the vertical direction, a gas supply part 42 for supplying inert gas so as to generate a flow of the inert gas crossing the chute space in the horizontal direction, and a gas discharge part 43 for sucking and exhausting the gas in the chute space. The gas supply part 42 has two or more branch passages 425 on the downstream side, branched from the upstream passage 421 and each communicating with the chute space, and each of the two or more branch passages 425 is formed so as to have a width in the horizontal direction spreading along the flow direction of the inert gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
