Summary:To provide a compact optical image stabilization apparatus that suppresses position detection errors of a movable unit.SOLUTION: An optical image stabilization apparatus 13 comprises: a base member 210 configured to hold a movable member 200 which holds an image stabilizer L1, movably in an optical axis LC of the image stabilizer; first position detection means 601 and second position detection means 602 configured to detect positions of the movable member relative to the base member in directions of first and second detection central axes α1 and α2; and first driving means 501 and second driving means 502 configured to drive the movable member relative to the base member in directions of first and second driving central axes β1 and β2. An angle formed by the first detection central axis and the second detection central axis is not a right angle. At least one of the directions of the first and second detection central axes is different from each of the directions of the first and second driving central axes.
