Summary:To provide a technique to accurately detect the amount of developer even when recycling a cartridge for an image forming apparatus with an electrical storage device attached to the cartridge.SOLUTION: A cartridge is attached to an image forming apparatus, and comprises: a developer housing chamber, a stirring member rotating to stir and convey developer; detection means having a detection member and detecting the amount of developer; and storage means. The housing chamber is provided on its opening with a sealing member. The detection means detects the amount of developer based on passage time corresponding to the time at which the developer conveyed by the stirring member passes the vicinity of the detection member.
