Summary: | To provide an electronic circuit having a novel structure.SOLUTION: A switching device 1 includes: a switching semiconductor chip 11 having a gate pad 14, a source pad 13, and a drain pad 12; a gate terminal 5 connected to the gate electrode; a source terminal 3 electrically connected to the source electrode; a drain terminal 6 electrically connected to the drain electrode; a sense source terminal 4 electrically connected to the source electrode; and an external resistance that is interposed in a current path between the source terminal and the source electrode, is interposed in a current path between the sense source terminal and the source pad and has a resistance value. The sense source terminal is not directly connected to the source pad but is indirectly connected to the source electrode via the external resistance. The sense source terminal is electrically connected to an overcurrent detection circuit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
