Summary:To prevent a deterioration in heat exchange efficiency due to condensation of water contained in a gas.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a design method for a gas cooler including a shell body that receives gas containing moisture and a pipeline that allows circulation of a cooling medium, disposed to pass through a gas flow path within the shell body. This method involves: acquiring information relating to a gas condition and a cooling medium condition; setting a provisional arrangement condition for arranging a pipeline when observed from a second direction intersecting a first direction in which a gas flows; acquiring a relationship between an adhesion rate of condensed water from moisture contained in the gas on an outer circumferential surface of the pipeline and a rate of deterioration in heat exchange efficiency between the gas and the cooling medium, on the basis of the information relating to the gas condition, the information relating to the cooling medium condition, and the provisional arrangement condition; determining whether the relationship between the adhesion rate of the condensed water and the rate of deterioration satisfies a predetermined reference condition; and if the result of the determination is that the reference condition is satisfied, determining the pipeline arrangement on the basis of the provisional arrangement condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】ガスに含まれる水の凝縮による熱交換効率の低下を抑える。【解決手段】水分を含むガスが送り込まれるシェル本体と、シェル本体内でガスの流路を通過するように配置されて冷却媒体が流通する配管と、を備えたガスクーラの設計方法は、ガスの条件及び冷却媒体の条件に関する情報を取得し、ガスの流れる第一方向に交差する第二方向から見た際での配管を配置する暫定配置条件を設定し、ガスの条件の情報、冷却媒体の条件の情報、及び暫定配置条件に基づいて、配管の外周面でのガスに含まれる水分の凝縮水の付着率と、ガスと冷却媒体との熱交換効率の低下率との関係を取得し、凝縮水の付着率と低下率との関係が予め定めた基準条件を満たしているか否かを判定し、判定した結果、基準条件を満たしていた場合に、暫定配置条件に基づいて、配管の配置を決定する。【選択図】図4
