Summary:To provide a method capable of easily and quickly performing a reissue of a PIN without requiring a specific device, even if the PIN is forgotten.SOLUTION: Biometric information of a regular user is registered in an IC card using the IC card 1 with a biometric authentication function having a biometric information reading function 5 and a PIN display function 4. The biometric information is read by the biometric information reading function when a user updates a PIN value. The read biometric information and the biometric information of the regular user registered in the IC card are compared. If the comparison is successful, a new PIN is generated and the PIN value stored in the IC card is updated, and the new PIN value is displayed on a card surface for a predetermined time by the PIN display function.
