To provide an image forming apparatus comprising a fixing device that can securely maintain a shutter at a closed position.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing device that is supported inside an apparatus body and includes a heating rotating body; a shutter 65 that is movable to a closed position to cover the heating rotating body and an open position to expose the heating rotating body; a lock member 67 that is movable to a fixing position to maintain the shutter 65 at the closed position and an allowing position to allow the movement of the shutter 65 from the closed position to the open position; and a mounting member that is removably mounted in the apparatus body. In a state where the mounting member is removed from the apparatus body, the lock member 67 moves to the fixing position to maintain the shutter 65 at the closed position.
