Summary: | To provide catheters that for improved visualization of the catheters and medical devices, are capable of being used together with the devices, systems, and methods.SOLUTION: There is provided a catheter comprising a polymer tube, where at least a portion of the polymer tube comprises a magnetized portion which has been magnetized so as to generate a known magnetic field B at a distance x through tissue of permeability μr. The position of catheter can be detected by a magnetometer on the basis of measured strength and direction of the known magnetic field and a correlation between the permeability of the tissue and the known magnetic field at the selected distance, the correlation being calculated as x=f(B, μr).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
