Summary:To provide a physical quantity detection device with improved detection accuracy and a reduced body size.SOLUTION: A first sensor 10 comprises: a metal target 11 on a shaft member 1 that rotates in conjunction with a steering wheel; and an excitation detection coil 13 provided on the car body side, wherein the first sensor outputs a signal according to a rotation angle of the shaft member 1 using a principle of electromagnetic induction. A main gear 2 is installed in the shaft member 1 and a sub gear 3 engages with the main gear 2. A second sensor 20 outputs a signal according to the rotation angle of the sub gear 3. If difference between a steering angle calculated from a signal of the first sensor 10 and a steering angle calculated from the signal of the second sensor 20 is greater than a predetermined threshold value, an electronic control unit 4 corrects the steering angle calculated from the signal of the first sensor 10 to bring it closer to the steering angle calculated from the signal of the second sensor 20, and detects a true steering angle for the steering wheel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】検出精度を向上し、且つ、体格を小型化した物理量検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】第1センサ10は、ステアリングホイールに連動して回転する軸部材1に設けた金属ターゲット11および車体側に設けた励磁検出コイル13を有し、電磁誘導の原理を用いて軸部材1の回転角度に応じた信号を出力する。メインギヤ2は、軸部材1に設けられ、サブギヤ3は、メインギヤ2に噛合する。第2センサ20は、サブギヤ3の回転角度に応じた信号を出力する。電子制御部4は、第1センサ10の信号から算出した操舵角と第2センサ20の信号から算出した操舵角との差が所定の閾値より大きい場合、第1センサ10の信号から算出した操舵角を、第2センサ20の信号から算出した操舵角に近づけるように補正し、ステアリングホイールの真の操舵角を検出する。【選択図】図1
