Summary:To suppress generation of black floating.SOLUTION: An image processing device includes: a maximum luminance setting part for associating a maximum luminance value contained in an area corresponding to a luminance image to each of a plurality of areas in which a display area of a second liquid crystal panel is classified into a plurality of areas so as to contain an overlapping area which is overlapped with a plurality of first pixels of a first liquid crystal panel per one pixel; an order setting part for setting the order in the plurality of areas in the descending order in terms of the maximum luminance value; and a transmittance setting part which sets transmittance of a focused pixel out of the plurality of first pixels in the order set in the overlapping area overlapped with the focus pixel based on the maximum luminance value associated with the overlapping area overlapped with the focused pixel.
