Summary:To enable a slide member used in a steering device etc. to be manufactured at low costs.SOLUTION: A coating method of a slide member includes: a step in which a slide member is cleaned; a coating pattern formation step in which a predetermined pattern, in which areas where a coating agent to be applied to an outer surface of the slide member is disposed and areas where no coating agent is disposed are arranged alternately, is formed on a coating agent arrangement surface of a coating plate after the cleaning step is performed; a step in which, while the slide member is rotated, the coating plate and the slide member are relatively moved along a surface direction parallel to the coating agent arrangement surface in a state that the coating agent arrangement surface of the coating plate, on which the predetermined pattern is formed, is in contact with the outer surface of the slide member to print the coating agent on the outer surface in the predetermined pattern; and a step in which the coating agent is hardened after the printing step is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】ステアリング装置等で使用される摺動部材を、低コストで製造可能とする。【解決手段】摺動部材を洗浄する工程と、洗浄工程実施後、コーティング版のコーティング剤配設面に、該摺動部材の外側面に塗布するためのコーティング剤が配設された領域と、該コーティング剤が配設されていない領域と、が交互に並ぶ所定のパターンを形成するコーティングパターン形成工程と、所定のパターンが形成された該コーティング版のコーティング剤配設面と該摺動部材の外側面とを接触させた状態で、該摺動部材を回転させつつ、該コーティング版と該摺動部材とを該コーティング剤配設面と平行な面方向に沿って相対的に移動させて、外側面に該コーティング剤を所定のパターンで印刷する工程と、印刷工程を実施後に、該コーティング剤を硬化させる工程と、を備える摺動部材のコーティング方法である。【選択図】図6
