To provide a product 1,3-butylene glycol which reduces skin sensitization and prevents coloring under a basic condition.SOLUTION: There is provided a product 1,3-butylene glycol, wherein in gas chromatography analysis under a specific condition, when a relative retention time of n-dodecane is 1.00, among peaks appearing in a range of the relative retention time of 0.80 to 0.99, the sum of n-dodecane conversion concentration of a peak excluding a peak of an acetal body of methyl ethyl ketone and 1,3-butylene glycol exceeds 0 mass ppm and 25 mass ppm or less, and the sum of n-dodecane conversion concentration of a peak of 2-ethyl crotonaldehyde, and a peak of an acetal body of n-butylaldehyde and 1,3-butylene glycol exceeds 0 mass ppm and 20 mass ppm or less, and in gas chromatography analysis under a specific condition, an area ratio of the peak of the 1,3-butylene glycol is 99.5% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】皮膚感作性が低減され、塩基性条件下での着色も生じにくい製品１，３－ブチレングリコールを提供する。【解決手段】特定条件下のガスクロマトグラフィー分析において、ｎ－ドデカンの相対保持時間を１．００としたときに、相対保持時間が０．８０～０．９９の範囲に現れるピークのうち、メチルエチルケトンと１，３－ブチレングリコールとのアセタール体のピークを除いたピークのｎ－ドデカン換算濃度の和が０質量ｐｐｍ超２５質量ｐｐｍ以下であり、かつ、２－エチルクロトンアルデヒドのピーク、及びｎ－ブチルアルデヒドと１，３－ブチレングリコールとのアセタール体のピークのｎ－ドデカン換算濃度の和が０質量ｐｐｍ超２０質量ｐｐｍ以下であり、特定条件のガスクロマトグラフィー分析において、１，３－ブチレングリコールのピークの面積率が９９．５％以上である、製品１，３－ブチレングリコール組成物とする。【選択図】なし
