To provide a control method of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which allows a user to easily grasp a scanned region in a large intestine, and the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus.SOLUTION: A control method of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus acquires an ultrasonic image of a subject by using an ultrasonic probe while detecting a position of the ultrasonic probe in a first scan of the ultrasonic probe to the subject, detects the large intestine of the subject from the acquired ultrasonic image, displays a position of the detected large intestine on a monitor in a manner of being superimposed on a model diagram of an abdominal part, determines whether a region is a scanned region for the first scan by detecting the position of the ultrasonic probe in the second and subsequent scans of the ultrasonic probe to the subject, and displays the region determined to be the scanned region in a manner of being superimposed on the position of the large intestine displayed on the monitor in the first scan.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】ユーザが大腸における走査済みの領域を容易に把握できる超音波診断装置の制御方法および超音波診断装置を提供する。【解決手段】被検体に対する超音波プローブの第１回目の走査において、超音波プローブの位置を検出しつつ超音波プローブを用いて被検体の超音波画像を取得し、取得された超音波画像から被検体の大腸を検出し、検出された大腸の位置を腹部の模型図に重畳させてモニタに表示し、被検体に対する超音波プローブの第２回目以降の走査において、超音波プローブの位置を検出することにより、第１回目の走査に対して走査済みの領域か否かを判定し、走査済みの領域と判定された領域を、第１回目の走査においてモニタに表示された大腸の位置に重ねて表示する。【選択図】 図７
