To provide a retractable writing instrument that can be manufactured at a lower cost.SOLUTION: There is provided a retractable writing instrument having a barrel 2, a writing body, and an operation portion 6. A rotor 5 can be inserted into the internal space of the barrel 2 from the front side. When a rotor front side portion 60 moves rearward while being accommodated in the internal space of the barrel 2, a rotor-side engaging portion 85 and a barrel-side engaging portion 22 engage, and further rearward movement of the rotor 5 is prevented. A part of the front side portion of a first cylindrical portion 101 of the operation portion 6 is inserted into the internal space of the barrel 2 from the rear side, and the first cylindrical portion is fitted into the extending portion of the rotor 5. In switching between the writing state and the retracting state, the rotor 5 rotates about the axis of the barrel 2 while maintaining the fitted state of the first cylindrical portion 101 and the extending portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14 【課題】より安価に製造可能な出没式筆記具を提供する。【解決手段】軸筒２と筆記体と操作部６を有する出没式筆記具において、回転子５は、軸筒２の内部空間に前側から挿入可能であり、回転子前側部６０が軸筒２の内部空間に収容された状態で後方に移動することで回転子側係合部８５と軸筒側係合部２２が係合し、回転子５のさらなる後方への移動が阻止されるものとする。操作部６の第一筒部１０１は、前側部分の一部が軸筒２の内部空間に後側から挿入され、且つ、回転子５の延設部に嵌合されており、筆記状態と退入状態の切り替えにおいて、第一筒部１０１と延設部の嵌合状態を維持したまま回転子５が軸筒２の軸線回りに回転する構造とする。【選択図】図１４
