Summary: | To provide a dimming device in which the area of an effective region (active area) is larger.SOLUTION: A dimming device includes a panel unit in which a plurality of dimming panels are stacked in a first direction. The dimming panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate that overlaps with the first substrate in a first direction, a first alignment film provided on the first substrate, a second alignment film provided on the second substrate and overlapping with the first alignment film in the first direction, a liquid crystal layer filling the space between the first alignment film and the second alignment film, a sealing material that is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate and outside the first alignment film and the second alignment film, and a conductive member that makes a first electrode provided on the first substrate and a second electrode provided on the second substrate electrically conductive.
